With the advent of bio- and nanotechnologies and four grants from the US National Science Foundation, he pioneered the teaching of molecular literacy using technologies as a crucial 21st century skill. For his work on molecular dynamic to enhance students’ molecular literacy, he received special prize from Science magazine (2011) for the best on-line resource in education.
