On 11 May 2017 the teleconference on the investment and industrial opportunities in the Kaluga Region of Russia – RELIABILITY-INNOVATIONS-PARTNERSHIP organised by the Trade Delegation of Russia in the UK and the Russo-British Chamber of Commerce (RBCC) took place in London. This unique event brought together senior business representatives from the UK and Kaluga Region.
The event was opened with a welcoming speech of Dr. Boris Abramov, Trade Representative of the Russia in the UK and Mr. Trevor Barton, the Executive Director of the RBCC. Among the key speakers – Deputy Governor of Kaluga Region – Head of the Representative Office of the Government of Kaluga Region under the Government of the Russian Federation Vladimir Potemkin, Deputy Governor of Kaluga Region Vladimir Popov, President of Kaluga Chamber of Commerce and Industry Violetta Komissarova and the representative of LLC AstraZeneca Industries in Russia.
The event showcased investment opportunities, presented unoccupied niches and outlined attractive business incentives to a wide business audience. The outlook for investments into the Russian Region became a new platform for participants to discuss important issues on Russian-British bilateral trade, including challenges for strengthening the cooperation and perspectives for production localization of the UK companies in Russia.
Overall the participants gave different assessments of the current situation and perspectives for the Russian-British bilateral economic relations.
