18th June 2019 the regular annual business forum of the Russo-British Chamber of Commerce «Russo-British Cooperation for Growth» took place in London. RBCC visited over 200 business representatives from Russia and the UK. The Forum was traditionally opened by the Patron of the RBCC His Royal Highness Prince Michael of Kent. During the speech the new Counselor and Director of Department for International Trade in Russia Trevor Lewis estimated recent experience and prospects for development of bilateral trade.
Participants discussed a current situation in Russian-British trade and economic relations and necessity to support joint regional projects and the development institutions. The speakers also emphasize the scale and success of the work of the British delegation at the SPIEF-2019. They also provided analyses of directions which were designated by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin in March of this year.
Representatives of British businesses confirmed their interest in cooperation and implementation of joint projects even in difficult political connections between the countries. Despite the fact that the Russian-British turnover expresses mainly in supply of mineral products from Russia over the past 5-6 years representatives of Russian and British businesses have been closely working in new market areas including financial technologies, agriculture, education and etc.
The RBCC also included 2 panel sessions «The Future Russo-British Landscape for Energy» and «Russo-British Technological Development: Opportunities for Cooperation». There was also a separate presentation of the Global Business Development Manager and Senior Advisor in Dezan Shira & Associates M.Kotova.
Together with the Russian businesses the representatives of Arkhangelsk region, Stavropol region and Zabaykalsky Krai Chambers of Commerce and Industry visited the UK with a wide business program participated in the RBCC that to establish business contacts and conduct negotiations.
